Description
Up for bids is a great little Mexican folk art box made by Salvador Corona, 1895-1990. Formerly a Mexican-American bull fighter, he turned to painting in 1919. He developed his own folk art style depicting scenes of Maximillian era Mexico. This box measures 4" long, 3" deep and 2 1/4" tall to top of dome. It features what looks to be a beautiful fountain, birds and people in Colonial dress. Condition is excellent for a piece of this age. Please enlarge photos as they are part of my description. Great addition to your folk art collection.
