Vintage Mexican Pottery Bud Vase Jorge Wilmot
Artes Folklorico presents a vintage Mexican pottery bud vase by the renowned, Jorge Wilmot.
Although born in Mexico, Wilmot trained in Europe and was a visionary who combined both European and Asian techniques of production.
He set up a studio in the late 1950s in Tonala, Jalisco, Mexico.
Wilmot became famous worldwide for his stoneware pottery.
This bud vase is a perfect example.
The bud vase features a beautiful shape with wonderful floral elements throughout.
The vase is signed along the bottom with Wilmot’s characteristic, ‘W.’
The bud vase is in excellent vintage condition (see photographs).
The piece measures 2-inches in height and 3-1/2 inches in diameter (at the widest point). A great find for anyone that collects vintage, old or antique Mexican pottery, ceramics, folk art, bud vases, stoneware or the amazing pottery made by the celebrated Jorge Wilmot.
