    Description

    This is an exquisite  larger work - Vintage Early 1900’s Mexicana-Jesus Salmon Marquetry “Vaquero Riding Home” with billowing clouds, mountain on the horizon, winding trail, Saguaro and other Cacti, Yucca. The rider has traditional Vaquero garb including sombrero - even a bit of his poncho or blanket show draped behind him Made from intricate inlay of hundreds of carefully cut pieces of select woods in various natural colors and grains that create the scene. Bird's Euye used for trail  Dark silhouette of Cacti dramatically included demonstrating the natural uniqueness of the wood used in the work. No other artist has earned the same reputation of fine Mexican Marquetry art as has Jesus Salmon.
    Lyrical imagery self framed in mahogany and walnut with inlaid two strip  artistic border. Measurements include, inlay, border, and beaded wood frame all made in Salman's shop and are integral to each piece of marquetry. Slight dents in original beaded frame, a tiny inlay in distance near cacti. All  marquerty pieces are firmly attached.
