Vintage Whistle in the Shape of an Angel Black Clay Pottery
Folk Art Design from Oaxaca Mexico
This angel whistle made of black clay is fired and rubbed to a shine.  It is in the shape of an angel with long hair
and praying hands.  To use it as a whistle, blow in the hole on the bottom.  A second hole on the side can be
covered in varying degrees to make different pitches.  It is 4.25 tall.  It is in perfect condition with no cracks
nor chips.
The firing technique of the Oaxacan Indians gives a variation of shades of gray to black to the finish. This angel is a
pure black, the natural color of the clay.  It is handmade in the traditional folk art style.  I bought the angel on a
trip to Oaxaca many years ago and it has been displayed in my smoke-free, virus-free home.
