Vintage Abelardo Ruiz Mexican Lady Angel Papier Paper Mache Candle Holder TALL. A lovely lady holds a candle on her head in this fabulous papier mache candle holder signed by Abelardo Ruiz, who has been making these candle holders in many forms since the 1960s. This one wears a robe and has a sweet face. She has wings. The primary color is a warm yellow & orange, with black outlines and multi-colored designs.
Her headdress forms the candle holder, but she works simply as a decorative model or sculpture too. She’s very much at home in a mid century modern or vintage boho chic setting.
