    Description

    This lovely small paper mache trinket box is signed on the bottom "Sermel Mexico Tonal Jal." Sermel is a paper mache studio in Tonala, Jalisco, Mexico. The town of Tonala is and has been for decades a prominent ceramic/pottery center.
    The box is 3.5" by 2.25" by 1" and delicately decorated with amid birds, flowers and foliage. Gorgeous burnt Orange hue with gold detail. Lots of crackle and crazing.
    It is in excellent condition and may date to the 1960s or 70s. Rare and beautiful estate sale find!
