The painting on this deer has much more detail than many of Jose Hernandez's other pieces as his works improved as his skills advanced.  This piece is a wonderful example of the transition of Oaxacan art from the earlier rustic era pieces to the more intricately painted pieces of today.  An important addition to any collection!

From the estate of a relative who was an avid art collector.  Item has been in storage for 20-30 years in a smoke free environment.  Expect imperfections typical of a hand-made item and a vintage Alebrije wood carving.
