    WONDERFUL OCTOPUS ALEBRIJE
    This wonderful ocopus is a fine carving with beautiful detailed painting in shades of purple with white outlining.  This sweet octopus has blue eyes and long eyelashes.    The underside is bnlue with light purple dotwork. It's a lovely piece.  This octopus  measures approximately 6" around and 3 1/2" tall.  Alebrijes are Mexico's fantastic, imaginative figures - they are often called "creatures of the dreams and the imagination".  They are hand-carved and hand-painted  of copal wood in Central Mexico where I travel regularly to select affordable high quality and imaginative pieces.
