    One of our favorite trips on our travels in Oaxaca is to the village of San Pedro Cajonos! Situated high in the mountains three hours from Oaxaca City, this is one of the most idyllic settings that one may ever find! Perched at the top of the mountains, with sweeping views of the surrounding canyons and distant pueblos, San Pedro Cajonos kisses the clouds and shines in its art forms. One of the most famous of San Pedro Cajonos artists, is the Blas Family of wood carvers. Their style is so unique, and can be identified readily upon sight. Bright colors, and fine painting are their hallmarks. I absolutely love the Blas Family wood carvings!
    These snail wood carvings by Victoria Blas are so cute !! Full of whimsy and fun, and bright and cheerful colors !! For such an economical piece, these snails are packed with a cool sense of motion and detail, with the curvature and ridges of the shell, the curve of the neck and the bulging eyes! Nicely painted and a great size, it will make an affordable and unique addition to your collection. The piece is signed by the artist, the antennae are removable, and the neck separates from the body for safe shipping.
