    Description

AWESOME COLORFUL EARTH TONE AND METALLIC ROAD RUNNER OAXACA WOOD CARVING
BY THE HIGHLY TALENTED WOOD CARVER DAVID ADRIAN BLAS (JR)
WONDERFUL WORK IN AN ECONOMICAL PIECE! WHIMSICAL AND FUN! WHO CAN RESIST THOSE EYES !!
One of our favorite trips on our travels in Oaxaca is to the village of San Pedro Cajonos! Situated high in the mountain Sierras three hours from Oaxaca City, this is one of the most idyllic settings that one may ever find! Perched at the top of the mountains, with sweeping views of the surrounding canyons and distant pueblos, San Pedro Cajonos kisses the clouds and shines in its art forms. One of the most famous of San Pedro Cajonos artists, is the Blas Family of wood carvers. Their style is so unique, and can be identified readily upon sight. Bright colors, and fine painting are their hallmarks.
I love these roadrunners! It is hand crafted by Davis Blas' son David Adrian Blas. So much fun! I love the big eyes, the pointed beak, the long tail, the feet, and all the colors! The top feather is removable for safe shipping. The road runner is signed by the artist.
