carved copal wood. The enigmatic face is 10 inches tall and 8 inches across.  It is a gorgeous piece  and the beadwork is in excellent condition. Because of their isolation, and their lands lack of silver gold or oil, the Huichol have survived with more of their native culture intact than probably any other culture in Mexico.
