HAND-PAINTED HAND CARVED BLACK AND WHITE CROSS ALEBRIJE - OAXACA, MEXICO

Description

Alebrijes are Mexico's fantastic, imaginative figures - they are often called "creatures of the dreams and the imagination".  They are hand-carved and hand-painted  of copal wood in Central Mexico where I travel annually to select affordable high quality and imaginative pieces.  This cross is made by the Oaxacan wood carvers.  It is black with white flowers decorated with silver
.  It is approximately 3" high and two " wide.
