    Description

    LOVELY DETAILED BIRD ON TREE LOG -  SCULPTURE
    Alebrijes are Mexico's fantastic, imaginative figures - they are often called "creatures of the dreams and the imagination".  They are hand-carved and hand-painted  of copal wood in Central Mexico where I travel regularly to select affordable high quality and imaginative pieces.    This terrific sculpture is approximately 8 " tall .  The bird itself is  approximately 5 1/2" tall and 5" wide.  The feathers and wings are removable and the bird comes out of the log.  There is a little caterpillar  glued into the log.   This interesting piece  would be a great gift or a wonderful addition to any collection.
