elaborately hand carved Orb on Stand
.  This amazing piece is entirely hand
made from a Gourd with image of t
wo Dragons in the heat of Battle..
.
The artist has painted to top layer White
and when cut away the white surface the decorative pattern emerges.
This piece was all handmade / hand carved by
Rafael Avenlop of Pinotepa de Don Luis
on the Coast of Oaxaca.
This type of craft is typical of this area in Oaxaca.
They measure
approximately
:  9 inches tall by 7 1/2 wide and 7 1/2 deep.
